Xinhua News Agency, Jakarta, November 8-A 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck the waters near Maluku province, Indonesia, and no casualties or property losses have been reported.
According to the website of the Indonesian Meteorological, Climate and Geophysical Bureau, the earthquake occurred at 11: 52 Jakarta time (12: 52 Beijing time), and the epicenter was located in the sea area 251 kilometers northwest of Taningbar Islands County, Maluku Province, about 341 kilometers away from Ambon, the capital of Maluku Province, with a focal depth of 10 kilometers.
Indonesia’s Meteorological, Climate and Geophysical Bureau recorded strong earthquakes on islands near the epicenter. The bureau did not issue a tsunami warning for this earthquake, but warned that there may be aftershocks near the epicenter.
According to the news released by the Earthquake Information Network of the US Geological Survey, the magnitude of this earthquake is 6.9.
