On the morning of July 1st, the conference to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held in Tiananmen Square. Before the official start of the conference, the choir composed of nearly 3,000 students from universities and middle schools in the capital jointly sang seven songs, including "Singing a Folk Song for the Party", and presented gifts to the Party’s 100th birthday with youthful enthusiasm and beautiful singing. On July 2, many college students who participated in the chorus told Jimu journalists about the difficulties and challenges they experienced during the training, as well as the surging passion of singing songs for the party in Tiananmen Square.

来自湖北随州的邱楚寒是中国传媒大学音乐与录音艺术学院2020级录音工程专业学生，他所在的学校有80多名同学入选合唱团。7月1日，他和同学们一起在天安门广场见证了神圣而庄严的时刻。他告诉极目新闻记者，在天安门广场，他看到了祖国的强盛。合唱团的成员们为了一个共同的目标而努力训练，最终在天安门广场放声高歌，让全国的观众都能看到他们这一代大学生努力奋斗、拼搏进取的精神风貌，他觉得非常有成就感。

王镓辉是中国传媒大学音乐与录音艺术学院2020级声乐演唱专业的学生，他是该校第一批入选合唱团的。“当时心情无比激动，感觉无法用语言来形容当时的心情。第一次看到以前只能在电视上看到的盛大场景，近距离感受三军仪仗队的风采。演唱到最后的时候，我们真的是已经热泪盈眶了。”他说。

Zhang Zifeng, a native of Xianning, Hubei Province, is a 2019 electronic science and technology major in the Department of Information Science, Beijing University of Technology. When talking about the feeling of live singing, he said: "I feel very shocked. As soon as I entered the venue, I felt the solemn atmosphere of the soldiers and the joy of the on-site personnel, and I also felt the prosperity of the country."

Wang Hao introduced that she saw the activity registration information during the winter vacation. She was a member of the marching band for the 60th anniversary of the school. At that time, the band only said that it was a "major event", and she guessed that it was a centenary celebration of the founding of the Party. Because he wanted to feel this passionate and positive atmosphere again, Wang Hao signed up for the training and selection.

"At the beginning, learn songs first, then divide the parts. After learning in different parts, everyone will practice together." Wang Jiahui said that the whole training process has gone through small-scale joint training, joint training with thousands of people, joint training with military bands and dedication groups, and joint training with all elements. We first practiced in our respective schools, then went to Nanyuan Airport for intensive training, and finally rehearsed twice in Tiananmen Square.

Qiu Chuhan told Jimu journalists that in the process of training, it is necessary to constantly assess and make certain elimination. The assessment is divided into male low, male high, female middle school and female high according to the voice. Each voice has a teacher who is responsible for the voice assessment, and the teacher randomly checks the tracks. If it fails, it is necessary to continue training until it passes. At the same time, they practice together almost three or four times a week. Under such training intensity, their overall chorus level is gradually improved.

After Wang Hao signed up for the chorus activity, she found that most of the participants were members of the school choir, some were veteran members who had fought many battles, and only herself was one of the few "Little Whites". Therefore, at first she felt a little nervous. Because for her, the initial training is to start from scratch, and learn the vocal methods with everyone. When practicing vocal music, the head of the team and the minister of sound often correct some mistakes, and every time after training, there is a feeling that "the stone in my heart has finally landed". After a period of training, Wang Hao successfully passed the first examination, and in later training, she became more and more confident.

Zhang Zifeng told Jimu journalists that for some students who have not been exposed to chorus, it is also a great challenge to sing in different parts without being taken away by other parts. These difficulties were really in front of them at that time. For them, all they can do is "stupid birds fly first". "As the minister of sound, the students still encountered many difficulties in the process of rehearsing with the male high-pitched part." He said.

What impressed Zhang Zifeng particularly was that he was preparing for his lunch break at noon on Thursday, and then several students added him to WeChat, saying that he was not particularly satisfied with his training effect and hoped to practice for another hour at noon. Zhang Zifeng, the minister of sound, was very moved and immediately got up from bed and went to the piano room to take them to rehearse. "At that time, we originally arranged additional training outside the original plan. Originally, we thought that some students would be reluctant. After all, as engineering students, the usual courses, homework and experiments are still very busy." Zhang Zifeng told Jimu journalists.

Logistics support is very intimate.

Wang Yi said that during the training, the choir has gone through small-scale joint training in schools, joint training with thousands of people, joint training with military orchestras and dedication groups, and joint training with all elements. Every time you go to a new place, you will have different surprises and feelings. I really admire the smooth connection between each department, and the front-line logistics and superiors and subordinates are closely linked.

"Every time the school rehearses, there will be rich meals before and after the departure. Our meals are all changed by teachers and they try their best to provide us with protection." Wang Yi told Jimu journalist that it was almost ten o’clock in the evening when he returned to school after rehearsal. He saw the school teacher waiting there in the car far away. After getting off the bus, he saw the school leaders and volunteers waiting for the choir members and giving them condolences. What impressed Wang Qin deeply was that there was a box of Siraitia grosvenorii in the condolences. She didn’t know what it was used for before. After learning about it, she knew that soaking in water with Siraitia grosvenorii had the functions of moistening throat, clearing heat and relieving cough. She felt that the school was really intimate.

On one occasion, Qiu Chuhan was the last to pass the examination. He felt very uncomfortable and tired at that time, and paid a lot but got nothing. "When the counselor saw my emotional changes, he took the initiative to talk to me and gave me a lot of comfort and encouragement, supporting me to finally stick to it." He said.

Wang Hao said that because rehearsal takes up a lot of spare time, he usually has the habit of swimming, and he can’t stick to it, so he has less time for personal exercise. The school specially arranges teachers to take you to exercise, and will also arrange some physical classes for you appropriately.

All the hard work is worth it

What impressed Qiu Chuhan the most was when he went to outdoor training. It was already summer and the temperature was high. Sometimes you may have to train continuously for three to four hours. "Although the training is very hard and the weather is hot, each of us sticks to our belief of singing for the party and the country, and everyone sticks to it." Qiu Chuhan said.

"Everyone thought that it was definitely the hottest when performing in Tiananmen Square on July 1 ST. I didn’t expect that every outdoor rehearsal in front was very hot." Wang Hao said that the result was the coolest on the day of the official performance.

Wang Jiahui told Jimu journalists that if you say you feel at the beginning, you are "tired". Because every rehearsal must be on call, no matter what work you have at hand, no matter what the weather is like that day, as long as you receive the rehearsal notice, you must keep the best on-the-spot state and participate in the joint training with the best mental outlook. In the past three months, the amount of training is very large and the frequency of training is very high. Almost every day, they go to the canteen to eat after class at noon, and then go directly to participate in the study and training of songs after eating. However, when I stood in Tiananmen Square and finally had the opportunity to sing for the party and the motherland, I felt that all the previous hard work vanished in an instant and everything was worthwhile.
