Cultural enterprises above designated size realized operating income of 5.9 trillion yuan. In the first half of the year, cultural and related industrial enterprises above designated size (hereinafter referred to as "cultural enterprises") achieved operating income of 5,935.7 billion yuan, up 7.3% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 3.3 percentage points faster than that in the first quarter. Among them, in the second quarter, the operating income increased by 10.7% year-on-year. Since the third quarter of 2021, the operating income has achieved double-digit growth for the first time. In terms of fields, in the first half of the year, the operating income in the cultural core areas reached 3,871.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%; It accounted for 65.2% of the operating income of cultural enterprises above designated size, accounting for 3.0 percentage points higher than the same period of last year.
The leading role of the cultural service industry has been significantly enhanced, and the entertainment and leisure industry has accelerated its recovery. In the first half of the year, the cultural service industry achieved an operating income of 3,075.8 billion yuan, an increase of 14.9% over the same period of the previous year, and the growth rate was 4.7 percentage points faster than that in the first quarter. The operating income of cultural services accounted for 51.8% of cultural enterprises above designated size, accounting for 3.4 percentage points higher than the same period of last year. Among the nine categories of cultural industries, the business income of the cultural entertainment and leisure service industry, which focuses on contact and aggregation services, continued its rapid growth in the first quarter, with an increase of 76.2% over the same period of last year and a growth rate of 27.7 percentage points faster than that in the first quarter. Among them, scenic spot tour service, entertainment service and leisure tour service increased by 84.9%, 82.1% and 35.8% respectively over the same period of last year. The operating income of four major cultural industries, namely, cultural investment operation, news information service, cultural communication channel and creative design service, grew rapidly year-on-year, with growth rates of 26.2%, 15.2%, 13.2% and 10.6% respectively.
The operating income of new cultural formats accounts for nearly 40%. In the first half of the year, the operating income of 16 industries with obvious characteristics of new cultural formats was 2,358.8 billion yuan, up by 15.0% over the same period of last year, 7.7 percentage points faster than that of all cultural enterprises above designated size, and 3.9 percentage points faster than that of the first quarter. The operating income of new cultural industries accounted for 39.7% of the operating income of all cultural enterprises above designated size, accounting for 2.6 percentage points higher than the same period of last year; The contribution rate to the growth of operating income of all cultural enterprises above designated size is 75.6%. Among them, the operating income of six industries, namely, Internet culture and entertainment platform, Internet search service, multimedia, game animation and digital publishing software development, Internet advertising service, digital publishing and other Internet information services, increased rapidly, accounting for 26.9%, 24.7%, 17.8%, 16.3%, 16.1% and 15.5% respectively.
Profits of cultural enterprises maintained rapid growth. Affected by the low base in the same period of last year and the rapid recovery of cultural service enterprises, the profits of cultural enterprises above designated size increased by 35.4% in the first half of the year, continuing the growth trend in the first quarter. From the two-year average [1], the first half of the year increased by 12.0%. Among the 43 industries, 30 industries achieved year-on-year growth in profits, and turned losses into profits or reduced losses, accounting for 69.8%. Among them, Internet information services, digital content services and Internet cultural and entertainment platforms achieved rapid growth year-on-year, which played an obvious driving role. In the first half of the year, the profit rate of operating income of cultural enterprises above designated size was 8.06%, an increase of 1.67 percentage points over the same period of last year.
